William ‘Bill’ Snead’s first flight was in a Cessna 172 out of Manassas, VA at the age of 10. He later started flight training in California in 1972. Now an instrument rated commercial pilot with a glider rating, Bill has built his life around aviation.
Bill has flown a variety of aircraft, one of his favorites being the Schweizer 1-26 which he flew out of Travis Air Force Base. During Vietnam, he served as a crew chief in a Lockheed C5A based at Kadena Air Force Base in Japan. Bill’s flying background has been essential to properly insuring aircraft and airports at Aviation Insurance Resources (AIR).
Bill has 40 years of aviation insurance experience to include serving as president of the AOPA Insurance Agency, 14 years at Falcon Insurance and 20 years as a top regional manager at Avemco. He has been part of the AIR team since 2015 and has continued to help AIR soar.
